Russian military arrive in Kazakhstan to take part in Unbreakable Brotherhood CSTO exercise
Servicemen of a mountain motorized rifle brigade based in the Republic of Tyva, the Central Military District, have arrived in Kazakhstan to take part in the Unbreakable Brotherhood 2017 international peacekeeping exercise.
About 400 troops of mountain motorized rifle brigade (Central MD) from Tyva and 80 pieces of military hardware are to represent the Russian Federation at the exercise, including a flight of Mi-8AMTSh assault helicopters and two Su-25 assault airplanes.
The exercise is aimed to increase understanding and consolidate cooperation of CSTO peacekeeping contingents, to master commanders’ skills in preparing and controlling peacekeeping operations.
Armed forces of Armenia, Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan and Tajikistan will be involved in the exercise that is to take place from October 16 to 20 at the Iliynsky and Shoshkaly training grounds in south-east Kazakhstan
